East Haddam Police Activity Reports, May 15 - 21
The East Haddam Police and the Connecticut State Police, Troop K, report the following incidents:
POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA - On May 16, police were called to respond to a dispute on Ridgewood Road Extension, between a landlord and a soon-to-be-evicted tenant. After searching an area that police were informed was an area "off-limits to tenants," drug paraphernalia was discovered. Lori Smith, 49, of 17 Ridgewood Road Ext, East Haddam, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Smith was released on a $500 non-surety bond, and was given a court date of 5/24/11 at Middlesex Superior Court.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT - On May 18, Katherine Weeks, 37, of 52 Alger Road, East Haddam, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and risk of injury to a minor. She was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and was scheduled to appear in Middlesex Superior Court on 5/19/11.
CRIMINAL ATTEMPT TO COMMIT SIXTH-DEGREE LARCENY AND THIRD-DEGREE CRIMINAL TRESPASS - On May 19, at approximately 2:15 p.m., during a patrol check of The East Haddam Transfer Station on Nichols Road in Moodus, (which was closed at the time) police discovered a hand-truck near the main gate containing 18 car batteries. Samuel Shepley, 20, of 15 Triangle Drive, Moodus, was arrested and taken into custody for the above charges. Shepley was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and given a court date of 5/31/11 at Middlesex Superior Court.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT - On May 19, Laurie Miller, 41, of 9 Palmer Martin Road, East Haddam, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. Miller was released on a written promise to appear, and given a court date of 5/20/11 at Middlesex Superior Court.
BREACH OF PEACE - On May 21, Michael Capps, 30, of 11 Hilltop Road, Moodus, was arrested and charged, then released on a $500 non-surety bond. Capps has been scheduled to appear at Middlesex Superior Court on 6/7/11.
