Including her stellar work stopping the infamous Haddam Land Swap, Melissa is a strong advocate for transparency in government. Unlike many armchair “activists”, Melissa practices what she preaches.
For years, she has volunteered her time to record and post public meetings in her town of Haddam. She chaired the Haddam Senior Tax Abatement Committee and the Anti-Blight committee.
The DAY, newspaper of New London, recently endorsed Melissa for the 33rd State Senate seat! o quote theDAY, “… in Ms. Schlag we find a candidate brimming with ideas and raising issues that major party candidates often avoid,” and “The legislature could benefit from an innovator”, such as Ms. Schlag.
In Melissa, I have found a true independent thinking candidate who is not afraid to challenge the status-quo of the two-party system. She is realistic and smart enough to generate bi-partisan support for her legislative ideas.Remember she is not beholden to the political bosses of the major parties. She will work only for the constituents of the 33rd District, not the political party bosses.
I’m voting for the courageous candidate, Melissa Schlag.
