Letter to the Editor: In Favor of the Candidate Who Voted Against the Land Swap

Mary Ellen Klinck did not support the Land Swap, while Jim Crawford voted for it.

 

Dear Editor,

If you need help making a choice in the August 14 Democratic Primary for State Senate in the 33rdDistrict (which includes East Haddam, Colchester, East Hampton and Haddam), one issue provides a sharp contrast – the controversial Haddam Land Swap issue.

The contrast: Mary Ellen Klinck does not support the Land Swap while Jim Crawford voted for it while he was a State Rep last year. 

If you are not familiar with the issue you can research both sides at:  

I do not support the land swap and therefore will be voting for the candidate who clearly shares my position – Mary Ellen Klinck.

And it was Melissa Schlag, Green Party candidate for 33rd District State Senate, who as director of Citizen's for the Protection of Public Land brought all the facts on the swap to the public and our representatives and organized statewide public opposition.
