And the changes keep coming

During the High School meeting regarding the schedule change, the slide that they used show us that the kids were actually gaining instruction time was repeatedly challenged by the audience.  We were told that we needed to go out 10 days to see the full effect.  I did my own excel spreadsheet at home afterwards and I found that we were really losing 180 minutes each 10 day cycle.  This morning a new email was sent from the Administration called "Updated Powerpoint".  The slide regarding the instructional minutes has been changed, as an obvious reaction to our challenge.  The slide now is very different and they are no longer trying to convince us that the students will gain additional instruction time, rather they admit they are losing some are using the old quality versus quantity argument.  I’m attaching the two presentations - the slide in question is number 7. See for yourself.   If they are so confident that this is what our children need to succeed, then they need to stop changing the argument!
