East Haddam, Conn., FEBRUARY 7, 2014:  Don’t miss your chance to get the best seats at the greatest values for each of the three terrific musicals during the upcoming 2014 season at the Goodspeed Opera House. Unprecedented demand is expected when tickets go on sale for the new season so audience members are encouraged to call right away. The Box Office will open at 10 a.m. this Sunday offering great deals on three fantastic musicals that are sure to delight theatre-goers:  the home-run hit Damn Yankees – The Red Sox Version; the vibrant Fiddler on the Roof; and the World Premiere production of Irving Berlin’s Holiday Inn. Be among the first to purchase tickets for all three shows at Goodspeed Musicals - the first regional theatre in the nation to receive two Tony Awards.

From the director that brought you Hello, Dolly!, this year’s season opener Damn Yankees is sure to be a hit with baseball fans near and far. Whether you’re a Red Sox, Yankees (or Mets) fan this is a rivalry everyone will be cheering about.

Batter up! Just in time for baseball season comes the muscular musical comedy about a Red Sox super-fan who is transformed into a star slugger after he makes a deal with the devil — and his sexy associate, Lola. Goodspeed re-imagines a Broadway classic that swings for the fences, no matter which team you root for. In the game of love and baseball, you gotta have "Heart" — but watch out for "Whatever Lola Wants."

Damn Yankees features Words and Music by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross and Book by George Abbott and Douglass Wallop. Based on Douglass Wallop’s novel "The Year the Yankees Lost the Pennant" with Book Adaptation for the Red Sox Version by Joe DiPietro .

Damn Yankees will be directed by Daniel Goldstein who helmed the recent Broadway revival of Godspell , Goodspeed’s 2013 summer smash Hello, Dolly!, and The Unauthorized Autobiography of Samantha Brown at The Norma Terris Theatre.  Choreography will be by Kelli Barclay. Ms. Barclay served as Associate Choreographer for Broadway’s Irving Berlin’s White Christmas and Assistant Choreographer for Broadway’s 42nd Street. She also choreographed Goodspeed’s Hello, Dolly!, My One And Only, and How To Succeed… as well as Hello!, My Baby at The Norma Terris Theatre,

Scenic Design will be by Adrian W. Jones, Costume Design will be by David C. Woolard, Lighting Design will be by Brian Tovar; and Sound Design will be by Jay Hilton with Music Direction by Michael O'Flaherty. Damn Yankees will be sponsored by Bank of America and Dr. and Mrs. David F. Frankel.

Fiddler on the Roof has captivated audiences around the world and this summer production celebrating its 50th Anniversary promises to be something extraordinary.
"L'Chaim — To Life!" The international smash about Russian villagers and their universal longings — love, wealth, freedom, God and home — makes its Goodspeed Musicals debut, boasting the beloved songs "If I Were a Rich Man," "Sunrise, Sunset," "Matchmaker" and more. Dance into the town of Anatevka, where "Tradition" is both embraced and challenged as local milkman Tevye sees his daughters fall in love in a time of extraordinary change.

Fidder on the Roof features Music by Jerry Bock, Lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, Book by Joseph Stein, and is based on Sholem Aleichem stories by special permission of Arnold Perl.

Fiddler on the Roof will be directed by Rob Ruggiero who brought Goodspeed’s audiences to their feet with The Most Happy Fella, Carousel, Show Boat, Camelot, Annie Get Your Gun and 1776.  Choreography will be by Parker Esse whose Goodspeed credits include The Most Happy Fella and Carousel. Mr. Esse served as Associate Choreographer of Broadway’s Finian’s Rainbow and A Tale of Two Cities.  Scenic Design will be by Michael Schweikardt, Costume Design will be by Alejo Vietti, Lighting Design will be by John Lasiter, and Sound Design will be by Jay Hilton with Music Direction by Michael O'Flaherty.

Fiddler on the Roof will be sponsored by The Shops at Mohegan Sun.

Happy holidays! Check into the tuneful world-premiere musical about a Connecticut farmhouse transformed into a jubilant nightspot — but only on holidays. From Valentine's Day to the Fourth of July, Thanksgiving to Christmas, expect a cornucopia of hit songs by Irving Berlin in a dance-dizzy romance based on the classic film that first starred Fred Astaire and Bing Crosby. Raise a glass of cheer to "Happy Holiday," "Easter Parade," "Be Careful, It's My Heart" and more of the world's greatest show tunes.

Holiday Inn features Music and Lyrics by Irving Berlin and Book by Gordon Greenberg and Chad Hodge. Goodspeed Musicals’ World Premiere production will be produced in association with Universal Stage Productions and by arrangement with The Irving Berlin Music Company. Universal Stage Productions is the live theatre division of the world-famous motion picture studio which has produced such Broadway hits as Wicked, Billy Elliot, Bring It On, the recent award-winning revival of The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess and many more.

Holiday Inn will be directed by Gordon Greenberg whose numerous credits include Goodspeed’s Pirates of Penzance and Half a Sixpence as well as The Norma Terris Theatre production Band Geeks! ,  and The Norma Terris Theatre and Opera House productions Happy Days: A New Musical. In New York, Mr. Greenberg directed the Drama Desk Award winning revival of Studs Terkel's Working, developed and revised with Stephen Schwartz and Lin Manuel Miranda.
