Letting Go

When we lose someone we care about, sometimes it’s difficult to move forward because we can’t identify with who we are without their physical presence. Now, we are tasked with looking deep within and redefining ourselves in this new reality.

This can be scary because we have grown accustomed to a certain way of living and existing. The challenge begins when we realize the only way to live is to move on and in a forward direction.

Our loved ones cherished us when they were here. They want us to be happy and part of that process is letting go, and being open to the world as it is now.

The question that remains is what if we don’t want to let go? What if, we liked things how they were and would do anything in our powers to go back to those days? The reality is that no matter our effort life is different. There is no way to return to those cherished moments, save in memory and reflection. Whether we lost someone we care dearly about in death, or simply due to life circumstances, this is true in all areas.

It might seem like memories are all we have to define us. However, in time when you are ready, you will find more to life and more to you. This process could take weeks, months, or years till you are ready for that reality. When you are receptive and open, those cherished memories will be more vibrant and rewarding.
