On Thursday, Dec. 5 beginning at 6 p.m., join your friends and neighbors for the annual Family Night on the Moodus Green.

This fun-filled event begins with a parade that kicks off at 6 p.m. that includes the Moodus Drum & Fife Corps., East Haddam Volunteer Fire Dept. and of course, Santa.

First Selectman Mark Walter will greet the crowd, and then holiday songs & Christmas carols will be sung by local chorus students, followed by the traditional tree lighting on the Moodus Green.

The rest of the event, which comes to a close at 8 p.m., will include more fun – such as meeting Santa at the Methodist (hosted by Youth & Family Services), a visit with Mrs. Claus at the East Haddam Free Public Library, and another visit to Frosty the Snowman at Peddler’s Village.

Children can make reindeer food and decorate cookies at the East Haddam Little Village preschool, and all can enjoy a dessert downstairs at the Moodus United Methodist Church.
