‘The Traveling Vegan’ Stops in Haddam

If you’ve been thinking about eating healthier (and who hasn’t), you may want to check out Vegan 101: Get Healthy in the Kitchen at Brainerd Library on Tuesday, October 23, 2012, at 6:30 p.m.

Chef Mary Lawrence, the Traveling Vegan from Well on Wheels, shares the basics of a healthy, whole-foods, vegan diet, which contains no animal foods or dairy products. Vegan 101 will show you how to get enough protein, calcium and iron and how to stock your pantry. Lawrence will also start you off with some of her tried-and-true vegan recipe ideas.

Well on Wheels is a Connecticut-based vegan personal chef service offering fresh, organic meals customized and prepared in your own home. Lawrence, owner and head chef, has taught at the Connecticut Culinary Institute, Wild Oats Market, and various adult education programs around the state.
