On Oct. 7, the driver of a truck heading north on Route 9 lost control and struck a guardrail, sparking a fire. Members of the HVFCo. and Middletown Fire's South District responded. Three occupants of the vehicle were treated by medical personnel on scene and transported via ambulance to Middlesex Hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries. The accident remains under investigation by the Connecticut State Police.
