Killingworth Library Book Sale

The Killingworth Library is having a book sale on Sunday, August 4.  Every sale is a little bit different.  In addition to our usual large selection of fiction, non-fiction, and children’s books, there are always a few items of interest to collectors.  This sale will include over 60 advertising pamphlets from the 1920s, 30s and 40s filled with recipes that include the publishers’ products, suggestions on how to get the most out of the manufacturer's stove or refrigerator, or how to stretch your wartime food rations.  We also have a pair of bibles with tooled and gilded leather embossed carved wood boards. These bibles, one in English, the other in German, are from the 1880s and have brass clasps.  The bindings have been professionally repaired.  For history fans we have the "History of the 77th Division" - from World War I;  a nice, tight book in better than good condition.  If you're a Western fan, how about five Westerns by Ernest Haycox from the early 1940s?  And while we're at it, is anyone interested in two boxes of books on birds and bird watching?

Our library is located at 301 Route 81 in Killingworth.
