Holiday Show - Maple & Main Gallery

Maple and Main Gallery in Chester is staging its largest and finest art show yet with an opening Friday, Nov. 16 to unveil 260 new paintings, assemblages and sculptures by 35 member artists and four guest artists.


The Holiday Show at the gallery will feature over 60 small works all for sale under $300 and some well under $300 making them appealing as gifts. There will also be unframed original art for sale for the first time.


The gallery is introducing eight artists new to the gallery but not to the art world of Connecticut: Pat Corbett, Beverly Ward, Barbara Hageman, Megan Mangum, Cindy Stevens, John Berube, and Linda Lilling and Estelle Laschever.

Four nationally known artists will also display their work in this show: Claudia Post, Jan Blencowe, Lucy Young and Don Demers.


 Demers, a Maine artist known across the country for his maritime paintings and landscapes spent time at the end of October painting with some of the Maple and Main artists at Messerschmidt’s Pond in Deep River and the riverfront in Essex. His paintings done at those locations will be offered during this show.

 The opening Nov. 16 will be from 5 to 8 p.m. with wine, punch and food served. The artists will be on hand as will the gallery’s new director, Erinn Marchetti.


The show runs from Nov. 14 through the end of January. The gallery is open Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.  mapleandmaingallery.com; mapleandmain@att.net; 860-526-6065.
