Eating Disorders
Eating disorders and obesity are a public health priority of the utmost importance. In fact, 2 in 3 adults and 1 in 3 children or teens are overweight or obese, and weight-related teasing is the most commonly reported form of bullying in schools today. Additionally, over 10 million Americans are currently struggling with an eating disorder such as Anorexia Nervosa or Bulimia Nervosa, and more than 80% of Americans are dissatisfied with their appearance. This talk will explore the causes and consequences of eating and weight-related disorders and provide information on both prevention and treatment.
