Museum Going to the Goats!

Connecticut Open House Day Saturday, June 8, 2013, 12 noon to 4 PM, Thankful Arnold House Museum, 14 Hayden Hill Road, Haddam. The Haddam Historical Society will participate in the 9th Annual Connecticut Open House Day on Saturday, June 8, 2013 from 12 Noon to 4 pm. This statewide event supported by the Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism is designed to broaden awareness of Connecticut’s cultural assets and encourage visitors to become ambassadors who share newfound discoveries with families and friends The Thankful Arnold House will be open for free tours with spinning demonstration by Vivienne McGarry of Cold Goats Farm of Haddam Neck. Also on hand will be Vivienne’s goats. Visitors can try a drop spindle or card some wool and learn how fiber was used in the 19th century. A felted mohair craft will be offered.
