Volunteer Information for Robert Masci Search

The Nathan Hale Ray High School will serve as the volunteer base for the search.

The Town of East Haddam is planning a coordinated search for Saturday and Sunday. There will be two shifts for volunteers. The first shift should report beginning at 7 a.m. and the second shift should report at 12 p.m.

Volunteers are being asked to report to the East Haddam High Hale Ray School located at 15 School Drive in the Moodus section of East Haddam at one of the above starting times.

Volunteers must be 18 years old or older and have a photo ID to participate in the search. All volunteers must come prepared to spend 3-4 hours in the woods per shift. Volunteers must wear proper footwear, long pants and long sleeved shirts. Volunteers will be walking through the woods in areas which may be wet and contain areas of thick brush.

The search is being organized in an effort to locate Robert M. Masci, a 68-year old East Haddam resident missing since late Tuesday afternoon. Masci is described as a white male, 6 feet tall and weighing 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing eye glasses, an aqua-colored sweatshirt, blue jeans and gray sneakers. Masci has a mild case of dementia, according to his wife.

Anyone who may have information on Mr. Masci’s whereabouts should contact Connecticut State Police Troop K in Colchester at 860-537-7500.
