As of Wednesday night, East Haddam is still 86% without power. There are currently 7 CL&P crews in town still working on clearing roads and wires and they began restoring power last night.

"We are working closely with CL&P to restore power as soon as possible, but they have not committed to 100% restoration time yet," according to Walter.

Bottled water, MRE's (meals ready to eat) and non-drinking water are available at the high school until 9 p.m. Please bring your own containers for non-drinking water.

Showers will be available at the high school on Thursday from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and again from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. A light breakfast will be served from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m.

The high school also has an open Wi-Fi network and a computer is available to access the Internet.

The East Haddam Fire House on Town Street is currently staffed 24 hours a day and is available at 860-873-5036 any time.

Project Halloween, originally scheduled for Wednesday night, has been postponed until Friday November 2nd, and has been relocated to the elementary school.
