It's never too early to start shopping for the special people on your Christmas list this year. If you shop locally, you can help support local, small businesses and crafters and not have to drive far at all.
The first event is the Annual Christmas Fair at St. Lawrence Church. It takes place over three days: Fri., Nov. 30, Sat., Dec. 1, and Sun. Dec. 2.
The fair features all sorts of Christmas items such as wreaths, centerpieces and swags to decorate your house. Handmade items such as sewn and knitted good. Handmade crafts and homemade baked goods. If shopping makes you hungry, you can purchase a bite to eat from a selection of homemade soups, hot dogs, pizza, meatball grinders, and desserts.
And what's a church event without a raffle? Come take your chance on an Amish quilt and a gift basket. There will also be a Silent Auction with a list of items too numerous to mention! The silent auction starts on Friday at 5:30pm and closes on Sunday at 12:00 noon.
St. Lawrence Church Fair Hours:
Friday November 30, 5:30 - 8:30pm
Saturday December 1, 9am to 2pm
Sunday December 2, 9am to 12pm
The second event is the Holiday Bazaar sponsored by the Killingworth Nursery School. It takes place on Saturday, December 1, 10am to 3pm at the Killingworth Elementary School. The Nursery School Association is the sponsor and organizer.
As in other craft shows and holiday sales, they will have many one-of-a-kind items for sale by local craftspeople. Most items are made in Connecticut. If you are looking for that unique gift for that hard-to-buy-for relative, go no further. There is a $1 admission fee. See you December 1 at the Elementary School!
