School Bus Accident in East Haddam

A vehicle collided with a school bus Tuesday morning.

 

According to a report on Channel 3, emergency officials said a school bus accident was reported around 7:30 a.m at Cedar Meadow Road and Town Street in East Haddam. No one was reported injured and there were 10 students on the bus at the time of the accident. 

The Connecticut State Police's public information office confirmed that there were no injuries at the time of the crash.

The report states that the unidentified driver said that he hydroplaned due to the wet road conditions.

Interim School Superintendent Mary Beth Iacobelli issued a phone message to parents via the town's emergency alert system stating that she wanted to "assure parents that all of the children are fine" in regards to the accident. If parents have any questions or concerns, they may call 860-873-5090.

The accident was cleared by a little after 9 a.m. and is currently under investigation.
