Swimmer Missing in CT River After Diving off a Chester Dock

Local crews and the US Coast Guard were called in to search for a man in his late thirties who was swimming in the CT River Sunday afternoon.

 

According to WFSB 3, rescue crews searched until sundown for a man that went missing on Sunday afternoon in the Connecticut River.

The man is reported as diving off a dock near the Pattaconk Yacht Club in Chester with his brother. The brother made it back safely to the family boat, but the victim never surfaced.

According to State Police Lt. J. Paul Vance, the search was suspended just after sundown on Sunday. Emergency crews are expected to resume their search Monday.

Local dive crews were called in to assist in the search, along with the Coast Guard.
