Memorial Day Parade Information

Both Haddam and East Haddam hold their annual Memorial Day celebrations on the actual holiday. The following information is for Monday, May 28, 2012.
Haddam

The annual steps off at 9:30 a.m. from the former Royal Building parking lot on Route 81 (Killingworth Road) across from the Higganum Reservoir. Marchers are asked to be on the corner of Lake Avenue by 9-9:15 a.m. The parade will march to the Higganum Center Green for Memorial Day services.
The parade may be shortened due to inclement weather, but the ceremony on the green will be held rain or shine. Bus transportation from the Haddam Veteran’s Museum to Lake Avenue will be available for all marchers.

East Haddam
At 9:45 a.m., the police will shut down Wigwam Road and Route 151. Participants are being asked to arrive at the old middle school by 9:30 a.m. for formation. The annual will step off from the old middle school at 10 a.m. and continue up 151 for a ceremony at the Moodus Green before taking a left on 149 and heading down Neptune Avenue towards the American Legion.
In the case of rain, a memorial ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the American Legion on Neptune Avenue in Moodus.
