Haddam-Killingworth Hall of Fame Induction

The Haddam-Killingworth Hall of Fame welcomed five new members at its induction dinner at the River House in Haddam on May 3rd.

 

The "Class of 2012" includes Tim Gannon, Shelly Cumpstone, Susan Dean, Marsha Brielmann and Frank Cunningham.

Tim Gannon is a professional photographer in Killingworth, a former faculty member at and is currently chairman of the Parmelee Farm Steering Committee.

Shelly Cumpstone has been an active volunteer with the Killingworth Library and with the Haddam-Killingworth Soccer Club. She and her husband, Peter, have operated Winterberry Farm, a cut-your-own Christmas tree business for nearly 25 years.

Susan Dean was a teacher in both the Haddam and Killingworth school systems for more than 40 years. She is currently a member of the Regional School District 17 Board of Education.

Marsha Brielmann has been a teacher at the Haddam Cooperative Nursery School since 1975. She has been an active volunteer with the Haddam Junior Women's Club and has also worked with the Connecticut Animal Welfare League and the Fresh Air Fund.

Frank Cunningham was a technology education teacher at Haddam-Killingworth High School for more than 15 years. He has also been a coach with Killingworth Park and Recreation. He has also held several political posts in Killingworth, including Board of Selectmen and the Planning and Zoning Commission.

The Haddam-Killingworth Hall of Fame was created in 2009 to honor individuals from both communities for exemplary community service and commitment to children. Nominations for the 2013 Hall of Fame can be found on the school district website, www.rsd17.org
