Governor Dannel P. Malloy signed a proclamation declaring Friday, December 21, 2012, a "Day of Mourning" in the State of Connecticut and is requesting that residents statewide participate in a moment of silence at 9:30 a.m. The Governor is also requesting houses of worship and government buildings that have the capability, to ring bells 26 times.

This moment of silence will be introduced in our schools as “a moment in support of the Newtown community and the Newtown schools.”

Although we will not make overt reference to the events at Sandy Hook Elementary School, teachers and staff will be prepared to respond to student questions and concerns.

We hope that you and your families enjoy a peaceful holiday season.
