East Haddam Local Prevention Council Meets with State Officials

Rep. Melissa Ziobron and Sen. Art Linares discuss youth substance abuse.

 

Rep. Melissa Ziobron and Sen. Art Linares met with the East Haddam Local Prevention Council (EHLPC) on Thursday to discuss youth substance use in general and the potential impact of the decriminalization of marijuana and passage of the new medical marijuana laws. 

The EHLPC was represented by Toni McCabe, EHYFS Director, Michael Gilroy, EHFPL and Rathbun Library Director and John Blaschik, East Haddam Selectman.

The EHLPC is a community coalition that represents various sectors of East Haddam and is interested in reducing alcohol and drug use among our young people.

Focusing on prevention through community education and organization, the coalition works in collaboration with EHYFS to increase community awareness, educate youth, parents and other community stakeholders, and mobilize community resources.
