Five things to know for Tuesday, August 28, 2012.

 

1. Weather: A chance of showers and thunderstorms all day. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Partly sunny, with a high near 85. For tonight, low around 54.

2. East Haddam Road Work: Please be advised that from September 10 until September 28, Falls Bashan Road will be reclaimed and repaved. During this time, please use an alternate route if possible as there will most likely be delays and detours.

3. Bus Routes: Tomorrow marks the first day of school! Lost that information on the bus routes? Just in case, here they are again:

4. Parade Band: On Saturday September 8th, 2012, Haddam will celebrate their 350th birthday in grand style at the “Haddam River Days Fireworks and Parade."

A parade band is in the process of being formed.

5. Word of the Day:  Colloquialism~An informal word or phrase that is more common in conversation than in formal speech or writing.
