Celebrate All Hallows E’en on Higganum Gre’en with HVFM this Friday

Come down to the last outdoor farmers market for the season in Higganum this Friday with Musician Bill Benson.

Still plenty of time to get a Pumpkin and fresh veggies from Old Glory Farm, and Wellstone Farm, too! And, then go across the street to Haddam Elementary School for their annual Hoe Down festival! Kids who come in costume get a LOCALLY made TREAT! Plus, hands down HIT, “The Whey Station” returns for their third visit – offering their luscious handmade Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, Gourmet Hotdogs, Homemade Soups and more! Top it all off with a few Autumn tunes from one of our favorite artists, Bill Benson--and you have the best antidote to the work week on a Friday afternoon.

Also available – Cider from The Farmer’s Cow and, hot off the press, “Show some Love for your Farmer’s Market” yard signs! Get yours this Friday at only $3.00 each so you can be the first on your road to show us some love!

The Market Board extends a huge THANK YOU TO ALL OUR GREAT FARMERS, FOOD MAKERS, and VENDORS for your continued support! You are truly, our Farmers’ Market Family – we could not do this without you! In addition, a great big Thank You to all our LOYAL folks who come to visit each week. This was a wonderful year on the Green; your patronage is a vote for great farm fresh foods, and food stuffs, and more -- all locally sourced or made right here in CT.

When you visit your farmers’ market, you participate in the bigger conversation of “keeping things local,” and that means you are also lending support to the renaissance of our small town – local economy. Supporters of a viable local agriculture have known this for a long time; healthy farms mean local jobs, food security and overall community strength.

Plus, our market invites folks who live elsewhere, a chance to get to know and share in our history and picturesque beauty. As we go into our fourth year on the Green in 2012, we ask you to keep on coming down to participate in Middlesex County’s BEST place to go on a Friday afternoon! Lots more in store next year!

Additionally, we offer two-pre Holiday INDOOR MARKETS: TUESDAY – November 22 and WEDNESDAY – December 21. Both indoor markets run from 3:30 to 6:30 PM – at our Higganum VFW Hall (formerly the old Higganum Fire Station) across the street from the Higganum Green. Lots of your favorites return and new vendors, too! So thank you once again, and remember:

BEE SPOOKY! BEE CREEPY!  BEE LOCAL! And FRESH!
