Ballek's Garden Center Celebrates 350 Years of Land Stewardship

July 7 and 8, 2012 have been proclaimed by the Town of East Haddam and the State of Connecticut as Ballek's Garden Center Day.

 

During a weekend-long event, celebrated 350 years of land stewardship, while renewing the family's commitment to protect the land for future generations.  

East Haddam read a proclamation Saturday evening, whereas the Town of East Haddam proclaimed the weekend of July 7 and 8, 2012 as Ballek's Garden Center Day. Lyman also read a proclamation signed by Governor Dannel P. Malloy, giving the honor to Ballek's as the state level as well.

An event tent included displays on composting, native plants, water conservation, herbs for health, Land Trust and Open Space conservation information. The celebration continues today until 4 p.m.
