East Haddam Couple Steals Motor-Vehicle: Parks it at Middletown Police Department

...Two East Haddam residents with a history of thefts and burglaries stole a car from Middletown Nissan then turned it in at police headquarters four days later after feeling regret, according to Middletown Police.

On Dec. 13 at 3:30 a.m., Gregory T. Hallowell, 23, of East Haddam Colchester Turnpike, Moodus, and his girlfriend Michelle Stankowski, 20, of Falls Road, Moodus, returned a stolen 2008 Nissan Altima to police headquarters in Middletown, according to the report.

The report says officers found the car parked in front of the police department on Main Street, as Hallowell had told them. Both he and Stankowski were reportedly unaware of their outstanding arrests warrants.

Both were charged with second-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit second-degree larceny.
