After over 65 years in business, a popular bakery in downtown Colchester has closed its doors.
Colchester Bakery shuttered its doors on June 1, the Norwich Bulletin reported. The newspaper reported the owner is retiring.
The bakery, located on 96 Lebanon Ave. near Route 2, was a notable venue for area residents including those in East Haddam and East Hampton.

The restaurant was popular for breads and cakes, and it offered online ordering as well, its website states.
