Local Businesses Remain Open on Martin Luther King Day

Here's a list of some businesses that will remain open in East Haddam, Haddam and Killingworth.

 

Schools, post offices and banks may be closed in honor of Martin Luther King Day, but many local businesses remain open. A handful are listed below with their hours of operation for Monday, Jan. 21, 2013:

East Haddam

7-Eleven, Moodus: open 24 hours.

Grist Mill Market, Moodus: open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Nathan Hale Pharmacyopen 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Shagbark: open 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

 

Haddam

Dunkin Donuts, Bridge Street in Tylerville: open 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Dunkin Donuts, Saybrook Road in Higganum: open 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Gristmill Country Market in Higganum: open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Tylerville Mobil: open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Tylerville Country Market: open 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

 

Killingworth

Dunkin Donuts, Route 81open 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Do businesses pay to get on this list? Every store that I know of is open in KW today but only Dunky Donuts is mentioned. Is this like a new kind of the old Mafia protection racket? What's the real scoop here? This may be something I can do at home to supplement my Social Security! LOL!
