Save the date (and some room) for what is shaping up to be a scrumptious event showcasing all your local favorite restaurants.

The East Haddam Business Association announced Wednesday that the inaugural “Taste of East Haddam” is being planned for Saturday, May 3.

The event will take place at Heritage Park in Moodus, located at the junction of Route 149 and Great Hillwood Road next to the Senior Center, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. General admission is $10, with tickets sold in advance and at the door. Seniors and children are $5.

Proceeds will benefit Ray of Light Farm, an equine rescue located in East Haddam.

"All East Haddam Business Association members, East Haddam businesses and restaurants are invited to attend and showcase their establishments with plenty of free tastings to go around," the association writes. "Businesses will be offering raffles, demos, and coupons. There will also be an opportunity to purchase products, services and gifts from various vendors."

All attendees will receive a map of East Haddam, Moodus and Hadlyme with all the vendors located on it, to return and partake in their offerings.

Business applications are due by March 21. More information and the vendor application are available by going to the EHBA Facebook page.
