Haddam Cottage Honored Best In New England

Yankee Magazine names local cottage an Editor's Choice winner.

The Nehemiah Brainerd House Bed & Breakfast’s “Laurel Cottage” was recently named “Best of New England – Editor’s Choice” winner by Yankee Magazine.

Innkeepers Jeff and Maryan Muthersbaugh’s 1930s Arts and Crafts style cottage, complete with William Morris reproduction wallpapers and many period antiques, has commanding views of the Connecticut River perched high on the edge of its bluff.

Separate from the Bed and Breakfast itself, the warmly decorated Laurel Cottage has its own entrance and kitchen, can sleep 4 and has a quiet, romantic, peacefulness for any occasion.

“We’re thrilled to be chosen as a ‘Best of New England’ by Yankee Magazine,” says Jeff,  “We’ve always known the Laurel Cottage was a special place but to have it designated as a ‘Best of New England’ is very rewarding.”

Founded in 1935, Yankee Magazine has been the best-selling and most widely distributed travel, restaurant, home and features guide specific to New England and its six states, with a readership of nearly 2 million.
