Get Lost Winner Found

Local museums award prize to "Get Lost in Heritage" winner.

Lower Connecticut River Valley Heritage, a group of six area heritage organizations, awarded its 2012 "Get Lost in Heritage" prize to Drew Pollack of Deep River. Drew, who entered the contest while visiting the Thankful Arnold House Museum in Haddam, won a deluxe overnight stay at the Saybrook Point Inn and Spa in Old Saybrook.

The six participating museums in the “Get Lost” promotion are the General Mansfield House in Middletown, the Thankful Arnold House in Haddam, the East Haddam Historical Society Museum, Chester Museum at the Mill in Chester, The Stone House in Deep River, and the General William Hart House in Old Saybrook.

The sites offer day-trippers and out-of-towners the chance to explore local history, art, architecture, genealogy, gardens, and other attractions. The “Get Lost” campaign will continue during the 2013 season and visitors can collect colorful wrist bands and enter a drawing for an overnight stay at the Inn in Middletown. For additional information and hours visit www.ctriverheritage.org. The collaborative project, resulting in a common six-society color brochure, was funded by a generous grant from Connecticut Humanities.
