First Church of Christ Hosts Quilt Show

Check out the patchwork of quilters and crafters at First Church of Christ's 17th annual quilt show in East Haddam this weekend.

A colorful collage of quilts and needlecrafts will be on display at the historic 1794 meetinghouse of the First Church of Christ Congregational in East Haddam as part of the church’s 17th annual Quilt Show this weekend.

More than 100 exhibitors from across New England have signed up to show off their handmade wares, many of which will be available for purchase. In addition to quilts and needlecrafts, the show features a boutique of jewelry, craft and quilt supplies.

Each year, a special handmade quilt is raffled off to one lucky winner. This year’s creation, “Sunflower,” is an original machine-pieced, hand-quilted and appliquéd design by longtime church member Betty Haines, co-chair of the Quilt Show Committee.  Raffle tickets cost $1. The drawing is Sunday afternoon.

Admission to the Quilt Show is just $5, and all proceeds benefit the church.
