The Boardman has Been Booked

The Boardman House in East Haddam is featured in a new book alongside 50 other exceptional properties across the United States.

The Boardman House of East Haddam is featured in a new book titled Great Inns, Bed & Breakfasts, and Guesthouses. The 220-page softcover book includes profiles and full-color photos of 50 properties across the United States that are "remarkable buildings" and have "inviting interiors for travelers and design enthusiasts to explore."

The Boardman House is located downtown in East Haddam and has been recently renovated by its current owners. The rooms and suites are individually designed and decorated with period antiques and artwork, oriental rugs and rich fabrics. Each accommodation offers luxurious comfort, complete with private porches, king-size beds with comfortable feather topped mattresses and luxurious linens.

The historic New England mansion was built in 1860 by the silversmith Norman S. Boardman and is an example of Second Empire architecture. 

Breakfast is served at the in the dining room and is made to order from a breakfast menu that includes freshly baked artisan breads.

According to a press release from the book's publisher, East Haddam is "home to spectacular scenery and is considered by many to be a shining gem in the Connecticut shoreline of New England."
