Light Up Your Night with a Free Workshop

A free efficient lighting workshop is being held tonight at the East Haddam Historical Society.

A free efficient lighting workshop is being held tonight, April 26th at the East Haddam Historical Society on 264 Town Street from 7-9pm.

The workshop is being hosted by the East Haddam Clean Energy Task Force and the East Haddam Neighbor to Neighbor Energy Challenge. It will feature two presenters: Roger Smith, Lead Organizer of Clean Water Action and Greg Cerrato, Clean Energy Corps Member for the Neighbor to Neighbor Energy Challenge.

Workshop participants will learn about the technology of efficient lighting, lighting design and how changing out incandescents for CFLs can save them money on their utility bills, says Katelyn Hope of the Clean Energy Corps.

Residents can also sign up to receive their free CFL lighting retrofit. Two members of the Neighbor to Neighbor Clean Energy Corps, who have been certified in efficient lighting, will come into your home and change about 15 incandescents for CFLs, which are 75% more efficient.

The program is free for residents of East Haddam and the retrofit can save a home owner an average 100 dollars annually on their utility bill.
