Holiday Food Drive Helps Shoreline Families

Dance Corner of Killingworth hosts food drive to benefit Shoreline Soup Kitchens & Pantries.

 

At this time of year, helping the less fortunate takes center stage the world over, including in our little corner of the world—The Dance Corner of Killingworth. The Dance Corner is hosting its eighth annual Holiday Food Drive to benefit Shoreline Soup Kitchens & Pantries.

Now through Saturday, November 17, The Dance Corner is collecting donations of nonperishable food items, holiday baking supplies and other needed items. Shoreline Soup Kitchens & Pantries is especially in need of:

  • Canned meat
  • Spam
  • 100 % fruit juices
  • Rice
  • Peanut butter
  • Pasta
  • Canned vegetables
  • Breakfast cereal
  • Low-sodium soups and stews
  • Boxed pie crust
  • Spices
  • Nuts
  • Canned pie filling
  • “Green” grocery bags
  • Rubber gloves
  • Cleaning products
  • Ziploc bags

The Shoreline Soup Kitchens & Pantries provides food and fellowship to people in need in the Connecticut shoreline towns of Chester, Clinton, Deep River, East Lyme, Essex, Killingworth, Lyme, Madison, Old Lyme, Old Saybrook and Westbrook.

Donations can be dropped off at The Dance Corner, 206 Route 80 in Killingworth, at the following times:
Monday – Thursday, 3:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Friday, 4 to 7 p.m.
Saturday, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
