Daily Five: Uno de Mayo, Jousting, Camel Eats Toddler

Five things to know for Tuesday, April 30, 2013.


1. Weather: For Tuesday, mostly sunny, with a high near 67. For tonight, partly cloudy with a low around 39.

2. Uno de Mayo: What? Isn't Cinco de Mayo? Regardless, The East Haddam Free Public Library is hosting a Family Friendly Fiesta for the whole town. Click here for details.

3. Jousting in Salem for a Cause: World Famous IJA Champion Charlie Andrews will host a jousting clinic on Saturday from noon to 6:00 p.m. at Treasure Hill Farm in Salem. 

All proceeds will benefit 10-year-old Athena Grey of Salem and her family. Athena Christine Grey is ten years old and lives with Cystic Fibrosis. Her parents are Chris and Denise Grey, and they’ve lived in Salem for the past seven years. Chris’ grandfather, Bill Congdon, owned Congdon’s Garage, a former Salem landmark at the corner of Witter Road and Old Colchester Road. Read more about Athena here.
