1. Weather: For Thursday, a slight chance of showers after 3pm. Sunny, with a high near 71. Tonight, mostly cloudy with a low around 43. 

2. Local All-Star: A big SHOUT OUT to Stephanie Leonardo of East Haddam. She has been selected to represent Choate Rosemary Hall in the Western New England Prep School All-Star softball game on Sunday, May 5.

4. Solar Power Comes to Fox Hopyard: The southern facing roof of the maintenance building now dons a series of solar panels and their golf carts have a small decal on the windshield declaring “This cart is charged with electricity generated by Fox Hopyard’s solar panel array.” Read more here.

5. On this Day: Three interesting historical tidbits for May 2. 

  • May 2, 1519 Leonardo Da Vinci died. He was 67.
  • May 2, 1536 King Henry VIII accused Anna Boleyn of adultery and incest.
  • May 2, 1568 Mary I of Scotland escaped Loch Leven Castle. She had been imprisoned there by Sir William Douglas.
