East Haddam is Currently Number 17

Have you voted for your favorite "still revolutionary" Connecticut town yet?

Niantic, Mystic and Putnum currently round out the top 3. East Haddam is at 17, while Haddam and Killingworth haven't even cracked the top 50.

Through May 15th, vote on the Visit Connecticut Facebook page for the Connecticut town that you think most embodies the spirit of the state’s brand, still revolutionary, by being a home for original ideas, inspiration and innovation. You also have the opportunity to vote for the business, destination or attraction within that town that inspires you.

Vote once a day, every day. Plus, each vote counts as a chance to win a FREE getaway to the Connecticut River Valley. The getaway prize is packed with special stops in some of Connecticut’s most charming towns - including Essex, Old Lyme, Chester and East Haddam.

The winner will receive a two-night stay and dinner for two at the historic Griswold Inn in Essex, a two-night stay and dinner at the Bee and Thistle Inn in Old Lyme, free entry for two to the Gillette Castle in East Haddam, a $50 gift card to use at Pattaconk Bar & Grille in Chester and a behind-the-scenes tour of the Florence Griswold Museum in Old Lyme.

Participants can also vote for the business, destination or attraction within that town that inspires them. For example, people can vote for any number of locations within East Haddam like Gillette's Castle, the Goodspeed Opera House, the Nathan Hale Schoolhouse and the East Haddam Historical Society Museum.

The top 10 favorite towns will receive promotional support and the winning town will also receive a two-minute video showcasing the town’s innovative, inspiring and unique places as well as bragging rights for all of 2013 and an honorary plaque.
