Tuscany Grill to host Tanduay Asian Rum Dinner
MIDDLETOWN – The world’s second-highest selling rum, made by Tanduay Distillers in the Philippines, was launched in Connecticut last month and state residents are being introduced to Tanduay Asian Gold and Tanduay Asian Silver at various tasting events.
Tuscany Grill has scheduled a tasting that goes a step further. On Wednesday, Sept. 25 from 6-9 p.m., the restaurant is hosting a rum dinner that pairs a different Tanduay cocktail with each of four courses. The price is $52 per person, including tax and gratuity.
The first cocktail is called The Arrival, made with Tanduay Silver Asian Rum, blood orange juice and champagne. It accompanies sweet potato chips, Cajun-seasoned popcorn, Bruschetta made with basil-whipped ricotta, taso ham, tomatoes and roasted peppers, and Tanduay Rum-glazed meatballs.
Next up is the Golden Apple, with Tanduay Gold Asian Rum, Domaine Canton, house-made lemon agave sour, and sparkling apple cider paired with vegetable spring rolls and Tanduay Rum BBQ-glazed shrimp skewer.
The third course features the cocktail Tagaytay, a blend of Tanduay Silver Asian Rum, lemongrass simple syrup, fresh lime and coconut milk, paired with shredded pork sliders and Yucca fries with chipotle ketchup.
