Teens in Action Food Drive

Members of Teens in Action, a Middle School community service group that works in partnership with East Haddam Youth & Family Services, recently completed their annual “Pack the Principal’s Office Food Drive” at Nathan Hale-Ray Middle School.  Each year, students in grades 4-8 compete to see which class can collect the most donations.  This year, Mr. Anderson’s 7th graders were the winners, collecting almost $1,000 and hundreds of food items.

Throughout the school, students and staff collected over $2,000 and 5,000 non-perishable food items, tying last year’s donation totals.  All food and monetary donations benefit the East Haddam Food Bank located at the Grange Hall.

Teens in Action would like to thank everyone who participated in this year’s campaign, and we look forward to making next year’s event even more successful.
