REMINDER Common Core Discussion
You are invited!
Many people have heard snippets about Common Core which is the latest educational reform being implemented in schools across the country, in Connecticut and in Regional School District #17, but few of us know details. There will be a public discussion of Common Core at the Firehouse in Higganum on Feb 26 at 7:00. The address is 439 Saybrook Road (Route 154) just south of the light in Higganum center.
There will be introductory remarks (about 5 minutes) from each of four speakers followed by questions from the audience. Participating in the panel will be

- Former Congressman Rob Simmons (2001-2007) and is President of the Regional Multicultural Magnet School Foundation in New London, Connecticut.
- Will Marotti, known as 'Pastor Will', of the WTIC radio program known as Church and State
- Patty Blodgett who lives in Killingworth and is an algebra teacher in the Portland School System
- Thomas Scarice, Superintendent of Schools for the Town of Madison
