Another winter storm was on the way, the weather was cold with icy, drizzly rain. But that didn't dampen the 'Team-Spirit' of the Nathan Hale-Ray Girls' Softball Team as they gathered together at the Nathan-Hale Plaza in Moodus on Saturday, February 23rd, to try to raise some money for a group trip down to Florida.
According to their varsity coach, Suzy Miner, the team usually holds a bottle-drive every year, which is normally held the weekend following Super Bowl Weekend. The event was held back a little this year, and needed to be rescheduled due to the blizzard (Blizzard of Oz) that swept the area recently.
But, as you can tell from the photos, the girls are back on track and on the (Yellow-Brick Road) working towards their goal.
If you were unable to attend the fundraiser, but would still like to support the team in their efforts, you can always send them a donation.
Please make checks payable to Hale-Ray Softball, c/o Bridget Erlandson, 15 School Drive, PO Box 404, Moodus, CT. 06469-0404.
